Josey Johnson’s Hair and the Holy Spirit
by Esau McCaulley

A story that begins with a question—and opens into something larger.

Josey spends the day with her dad—at the beauty shop, picking out a dress, getting ready for Sunday. Along the way, she begins to notice the differences around her and wonders what they mean.

The book offers an answer: our differences are not mistakes. They are part of the way God has made the world—full of variety, beauty, and life.

Written by Esau McCaulley, it’s a story that invites children (and those reading with them) into good conversation—about identity, belonging, and the Spirit that moves among us all.
